Community Is The Thing That Sustains, Not Severs!

Community Is The Thing That Sustains, Not Severs!

My initial thoughts when creating this post was going to share the thing that God asked me for during my time of rest.. but as I started to write I was compelled to write about community...

I love the communal aspect of this scripture. We find our meaning and function in him so if we are feeling without meaning and operating out of function that means we are trying to be independent  and while Boosie and Webbie taught me how to spell independent. Being independent from the body of Christ and from Christ results in us operating as if we are a chopped off finger or toe .. discouraged,  disconnected and defeated which are not the ways Christ intended for life for us.

The scripture picks up and says :

So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t.

  • Do you see it??

  • Do you see the descriptive verbiage used in the text?

Lets break it down

So since we find ourselves - we didn't put ourselves here , this is where we found ourselves , we were lost but in Jesus we are found.

Fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body.. when we think about fashioned its about the shaping and molding with purpose and intention  not just into anything or anywhere but in Christ’s body.

Since we find ourselves fashioned as a result we should do what?

Go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t.

The text is clear: we find wholeness in the  community in which we belong..

When we are not connected to the body and when we insist on doing life, faith, calling, or purpose on our own, we don’t become stronger—we become severed.

It was never Christ's intention for us to position ourselves and strive for meaning in isolation or compete within the body. It is his intention for us to find who we are in him and from that awareness we are positioned within the body to function effortlessly.

When we are comparing we are telling God his placement of our function was wrong and that we know better. Pride robs us of the benefits of community and both separates us from the community in which we were created to thrive and function in.

Christ never intended for us to strive for meaning in isolation or compete for position within the body. Our meaning flows from Him. Our function flows from Him. Our placement is intentional. There is no extra, no unnecessary, no overlooked part in Christ’s body. That’s why comparison is so dangerous—it causes us to despise the part we were fashioned to be. And pride is just as harmful—it convinces us we don’t need the body at all. Both lead us away from the very connection that sustains us.

This is an invitation to be what you were made to be and release the pressure to perform outside of your functioning position  because when each part of the body shows up whole the body is whole.. You’re invited to join us in the Kingdom Career Collective Group
