Nehemiah 6:3 So I replied by sending this message to them: “I am engaged in a great work, so I can’t come. Why should I stop working to come and meet with you?”

Nehemiah understood that the work God entrusted to him was too important to abandon. He refused to come down because he recognized that his assignment was connected to God's greater purpose.

Take a few moments to reflect and journal through these questions:

  • What "great work" has God entrusted to me in this season?

  • What distractions have been tempting me to come down from my wall?
